In our last hour, we’re excited to announce the creative team for the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION!

Kyla Vanderklugt (Spera, Jim Henson’s Storyteller) will be adapting A.C.H. Smith’s prose! With a background in fantasy stories and other Henson properties, Kyla is the right fit for helping to bring Sarah’s story and journey through the Labyrinth to the page.

Giorgio Spalletta (Alice Ever After, Alice Never After) will be handling art duties on the adaptation. We’ve worked with Giorgio on a number of fantasy projects and are confident that his rich and vibrant style will bring the world of the Labyrinth to life!

Make sure you finalize your reserved order for the LABYRINTH campaign by no later than  11am PST this Thursday, August 10th if you want to not guarantee your copy of the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION and any of the other spellbinding items exclusive to this campaign, but to capture any of our unlocked Stretch Goals.

The LABYRINTH Adaptation cover illustration revealed!

Hello, Fellow Explorers of Jareth’s Realm!

With less than 24 hours to go, we’re thrilled to reveal the breathtaking cover illustration by Miguel Mercado for the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION depicting a breathtaking mirror image of Sarah and her friends traversing the labyrinth on one side and Jareth, the Goblin King, holding Sarah’s brother Toby captive within his kingdom on the other!

As of this moment, we are less than $5,000 away from unlocking our next Stretch Goal at $625,000 which will add to every reserved physical order a free art print of Miguel’s cover for LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION printed on premium cardstock and suitable for framing.

At the same time, any reserved order for Tier 6 will automatically have the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster added to their order. And we’ll upgrade the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster in Tiers 7, 8 and 9 but with Spot UV and gold foil stamping. Lastly, we will unlock the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster as an add-on item for $40.

A Froud Family Reunion

Hello, Fellow Explorers of Jareth’s Realm!

With only three days left in our campaign, we’re excited to reveal who will be signing the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION and COMPLETE LABYRINTH: BEYOND THE GOBLIN CITY for Tiers 7, 8, and 9!

For the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION, we’re thrilled to have Toby Froud, who played baby Toby in the seminal film, sign bookplates of this newest interpretation of the story he played such a critical role in. Toby is a highly sought after puppet designer, sculptor, and fabricator having contributed to films and television series including The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinnochio, Kubo And The Two Strings, The Boxtrolls, and The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe.

Even more exciting, we’re assembling a bit of a Froud family reunion within the campaign as Brian and Wendy Froud will both sign the COMPLETE LABYRINTH: BEYOND THE GOBLIN CITY. Brian was, of course, the conceptual designer for the original film and a longtime collaborator of Jim Henson, as well as the mind behind the beloved The Goblins of Labyrinth companion book. Wendy, a legendary sculptor and puppet-maker, also worked on the original film designing numerous creatures in the film.

We’re proud to have all three members of the Froud family, who contributed so much to the LABYRINTH legacy, as part of our campaign. As we updated previously, copies of COMPLETE LABYRINTH: CORONATION will be signed by author Simon Spurrier. There are still limited quantities of Tiers, 7, 8, and 9 available to be reserved, so make sure you secure your set before we wrap up the campaign at 11am PST this Thursday, August 10th if you want to not only guarantee a set but capture any unlocked Stretch Goals.

Final Stretch Goal Revealed!

With just five days left in our campaign, we’re excited to reveal our final Stretch Goal… one worthy of the Goblin King himself! Indeed, when we reach $725,000 in total reserved orders, we will unlock not just one but two spellbinding physical rewards.

For our first reward, we are thrilled to have partnered with the inspiring Insight Editions to include one of their amazing books in this BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign. When we reach the final Stretch Goal, we will add a BOOM! Direct Reserve exclusive edition of LABYRINTH: The Ultimate Visual History to every reserved order for Tier 5 and above. Anyone with a reserved order for Tier 5 will have the hardcover edition added, while reserved orders for Tiers 6, 7, 8, and 9 will have the slipcased edition added. At the same time, this Stretch Goal will also unlock this BOOM! Direct Reserve exclusive edition of LABYRINTH: The Ultimate Visual History as an add-on item for $75 in hardcover or $100 for the slipcased hardcover.

LABYRINTH: The Ultimate Visual History is a nearly 200 page visual celebration of the seminal film, originally released as part of the 30th anniversary in 2016. The book is filled with rare and previously unseen behind-the-scenes imagery and history of the movie classic through the eyes of the artists, costume designers, and creature creators through in-depth commentary, interviews, rare sketches, concept art, and candid set photography.

We’re equally excited to reveal our second reward, where we have partnered with Rizzoli Universe, the leader in pop culture calendars, to add a 2026 LABYRINTH wall calendar to every reserved order that totals $150 or more! Both tiers and add-on items will count toward meeting the reserved order minimum to qualify to receive the calendar for free.

This collectible 12” x 12” wall calendar will feature a BOOM! Direct Reserve exclusive cover along with photos and artwork from and inspired by the beloved film perfectly suitable for home or work. At the same time, this Stretch Goal will also unlock this BOOM! Direct Reserve exclusive edition of the 2026 LABYRINTH wall calendar as an add-on item for $20.

LABYRINTH Adaptation Cover Reveal & Stretch Goal Updates

Hello, Fellow Explorers of Jareth’s Realm!

Thank you for your patience in waiting for our latest update! We’re excited to share that we’ve received the beautiful initial pass of the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION cover by one of our absolute favorite illustrators, Miguel Mercado. Miguel has illustrated beautiful covers for us on BOOM! Studios comic series including Magic: The Gathering, Power Rangers, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Firefly alongside illustrations for X-Men, Peacemaker Tries Hard!, Batman, and The Amazing Spider-Man for Marvel and DC Comics. We can’t share it with you quite yet as we’re still finalizing the image with our partners at the Jim Henson Company, but we did want to share the following exciting update.

We were so enchanted by Miguel’s reflective image design that we’ve decided to also add a framable art print of the cover to our current Stretch Goal. When we reach $625,000, not only will we unlock the previously announced upgrades to the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster, but every reserved physical order will also come with a free art print of Miguel’s cover for LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION printed on premium cardstock and suitable for framing.

We also wanted to proactively address some of the feedback we’ve received from a number of you regarding the Stretch Goals. While we do our best to spread the rewards from Stretch Goals across a variety of tiers and reserved order sizes, we do acknowledge that some larger physical Stretch Goal rewards are weighted toward the higher, more expensive tiers.

To that end, we wanted to clarify that the first four tiers are intended to be entry level price points. Our goal is to make participation in this campaign as accessible to fans as possible, while fulfilling on the promise to deliver unique, premium, and exclusive items not available in other channels. While each of the core three LABYRINTH books will be available at retail through other channels at a slightly lower retail price, this BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign is the only place to reserve the exclusive design and premium embellishments you see in the campaign. They are also limited to their initial print run and never to be reprinted.

We’ve unlocked the following Stretch Goals, which all of our tiers, including 1-4, will receive:

• Free DRM-free digital PDF editions of each of the LABYRINTH books in their reserved orders.
• All the books have been upgraded with head and tail bands and book ribbons, foil stamping, and matching gold foil gilding on the edges (gold for the regular slipcases, red for the Elite editions).
• Every copy of the LABYRINTH GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION has had 12 extra story pages added to it and its total page count upgraded to 160 pages.
• Every slipcased edition has also had the slipcase upgraded with foil stamping (gold for the regular slipcases, red for the Elite editions) and Spot UV (also sometimes called Spot Varnish) to accent the maze-like patterns.
   

When we reach $625,000, EVERY physical reserved order will automatically receive the Mercado cover as an art print as well.

At the same time, any reserved order for Tier 6 will automatically have the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster added to their order. And we’ll upgrade the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster in Tiers 7, 8 and 9  with Spot UV and gold foil stamping.

Items like the LABYRINTH Movie Replica Poster and the Fiona Staples print set (which has been unlocked as a free Stretch Goal item for Tier 5 and above) are also available as add-on items at check out so you can customize your reserved order to best suit your needs and budget.

We acknowledge that these answers may not satisfy every customer, but we hope the additional information helps you make the decision that is best for you. Our goal is always to get our comic books and graphic novels into the hands of potential fans through whatever channel is best for those fans to enjoy them. For some that may be a BOOM! Direct Reserve campaign like this where they can access our most unique, collectible editions, while for others it may be through more traditional channels like comic book shops, bookstores, libraries, and others.
